Approach
Our parent companies MC2 Audio and XTA Electronics have been pioneers in the pro audio market since the 1990s – with our products installed in many of the top studios and live venues across the world – from kitting out Air studios to supplying audio processors for NASA, and the main stage at Glastonbury.
For years we were told that MC2 Audio’s amplifiers were being used as part of people’s home set ups, such was the love for the sound our pro products produce, and yet – we knew we could do this much more effectively by custom-designing for use in the home.
With this prompt from loyal customers, our success and global reach in pro audio, and industry legends Terry Clarke and Alex Cooper at the helm, our vision was to transfer this sonic pedigree to the Hi-Fi market.
Our First
Products
Once this decision was made to pursue Hi-Fi, we were all in. We couldn’t stop thinking about what the possibilities were for the ultimate home audio experience.
We wanted Ultrafide Audio to be more than a new brand and product range, it is a deep-rooted passion and labour of love – all designed and hand built in the UK.
Our R&D is headed up by the aforementioned lead product designer and audio engineer, Alex Cooper. Alex was given a blank canvas with which to operate for Ultrafide products and freedom to over-engineer, with the sole goal of audio quality, sonic purity and unrivalled stereo image.
No application constraints, no logistical hurdles, no compromises – just the best engineering, design and components to bring the finest possible sound to the home.
This resulted in our debut products: the Ultra Sigma pre/power combo – comprising the U4PRE quad output analogue preamplifier and U500DC ultra fidelity audiophile power amplifier – which together deliver astonishing results, delivering unparalleled sonic purity, high-end definition and low-end response to the home.
Launched across 2023 and 2024, the reception to the Ultra Sigma combo has been nothing short of remarkable – shipping them to 19 countries within our first year, and rave reviews in leading audio magazines Audiograde, The Ear and Tannoyista.
Where we’re at now
Fast forward to today, and we’ve now in 22 international markets – with dealers and distributors across four continents – with all products still made with love from our UK base.
On the product side, we’ve taken things to the next level with DIAS, our high-power class AB amplifier. A true masterpiece of sonic engineering and a real statement of intent.
Rooted in ancient Greek mythology, Dias was the original name for Zeus – the king of the gods, a symbol of strength, authority and mastery. Just as Zeus ruled the skies with thunder and lightning, our DIAS-U8 model commands sound with raw energy and impeccable precision, delivering a breathtaking and perfectly controlled sonic experience.
DIAS was unveiled publicly at the Bristol Hi-Fi Show in 2025, with it catching immediate attention from revered publications What H-Fi?, The Speaker Shack and HiFi Pig.
