Dealer Spotlight: Introducing BrianandTrevors (North West, UK)

After launching our Dealer Spotlight series with Ripcaster and subsequent piece on Glasgow Audio, we’re excited to focus on the dynamic duo that is Brian and Trevor at BrianandTrevors – one of the most trusted Hi-Fi specialist dealers in the UK, based in Greater Manchester, UK. 

This comes just ahead of our appearance at the North West Audio Show, at which Ultrafide is exhibiting alongside our friends Kudos Audio, and the Ultrafide SP500 stereo power amplifier will feature in BrianandTrevors’ Mercer room system. 

Brian & Trevor have been operating very successfully in the Greater Manchester region since 2009 and have gained a first-class reputation for technical product knowledge and dedicated customer care. 

The pair specialise in an appointment-led / demo-driven approach, conducted from suitably warming premises, filled with top quality music! Incredible sound and client experience is everything at BrianandTrevors – a philosophy very much aligned with all things Ultrafide Audio.

We spoke to them ahead of the Northwest Audio Show, to hear more about the duo’s journey into audio and what BrianandTrevors is all about. 

How did BrianandTrevors come to be and the partnership between the two of you form? 

“We have been collectively involved in the audio industry for over forty years – Trevor from 1984 working for an Oxford audio dealer, and Brian, joining Linn Products in 1990 and meeting Trevor who had joined Linn Products in 1989. Brian’s responsibilities included Linn’s PR and Marketing and setting up review systems for the Press and Audio Shows (1990-2007). Trevor was a Linn UK Sales Account Manager (1989-2007), a role that also included responsibilities in other countries and markets. 

“With our immersion in the Linn culture and products for so many years, and in our different roles at Linn we visited many Linn retailers in the UK and overseas, and after years discussing how we could create our own Linn retail business, we eventually left our employment with Linn in 2007 to invest our funds and establish House of Linn Ltd. as an independent Linn retail consultancy that “does Linn right”. Working for Linn Products appealed to us as Hi-Fi enthusiasts because it involved every aspect of product understanding and system installation. 

“The knowledge and experience we gained at Linn prepared us for the two audio consultancies we now own and run – House of Linn (2007) and Brianandtrevors, because that’s how our clients referred to us! – in 2009, to offer a broader range of components and solutions we listened to extensively and liked. –  now including Ultrafide! BrianandTrevors and House of Linn are situated in a large, comfortable Victorian home, and unlike shop dem rooms, our systems are installed in real rooms, without compromise for the best performance, to give a pretty good idea of the performance expected in any home.”  

Like Ultrafide, we notice that first and foremost you are passionate musicians and music fans – is it a love for music that really drives Brian and Trevors?

“Our passion for music goes way back – Brian studied violin, guitar, and Trevor, drums. Brian collected and played vinyl from his teens and his sons grew up with Brian’s extensive record collection and Linn music systems in the family home. They now have music degrees and multi-instrumentalists. We always remember our first experiences as hi-fi enthusiasts – and as customers, comparing different brands of audio systems – and then discovering the thrill of listening to our favourite recordings through great hi-fi systems and how recorded music became alive, realistic, and truly moving.”

Q: What sets BrianandTrevors apart as a Hi-Fi dealer?

“Customer Service and Expertise: Unlike any hi-fi shop, we are an appointment-based audio consultancy. Our music demonstration rooms are inside a house, in real living rooms and real living spaces, allowing clients to experience Linn systems as they would be enjoyed at home – music in one room, or whole home audio. BrianandTrevors is a real house where you discover how music can sound at home. We combine more than forty years of audio knowledge and experience; our customer service standards and expertise are second to none.”

Q: Why did you decide to partner with Ultrafide and is there anything specific about the brand / products that really grabbed your attention?

“We discovered and were impressed by Ultrafide at the North West Audio Show a couple of years ago and where we will be with Ultrafide driving our show system in The Mercer Room at this year’s Show as well. As we discovered with subsequent dems at BrianandTrevors, Ultrafide amplification provides a clean, vivid and transparent sound quality, and a revealing musicality.”

Q: What does the future hold for Ultrafide and Brian and Trevors?

“We hope for great success! Visit us in June at the North West Audio Show 2026 June 27-28th and make an appointment with us for a demonstration to discover why we added Ultrafide to our recommended amplification roster.
